It was horrible to see her turn from a confident but humble child with a powerful voice and a cheeky and bubbly personality into a frightened and vulnerable adult. She really could sing, not just an amazing voice but the emotion and the ability to make the cover sings her own, often better than the original. RIP Lena, you should have been a superstar, and you are in our hearts.

I saw both her first and, this, her last TV appearance. She was a tremendous talent and always came across as a lovely person. It was terribly sad when she died. Only one observation though. It is so easy to blame her illness on one person or the industry generally. However the causes of anorexia are often more complex and unknown than that.

I forgot how awesome Lena was, I was 9 when this was on TV, but I was aware of Lena and her talent even then. I wish things had been different for her, I wonder what she would have done, do you think she would have gone to the USA to work.

She could easily have stared in this show, I wonder if things had been better for her would she have worked in the USA like Olivia NJ did and done a few films.

I believe she was neglected when she was ill; I reached out to her in sympathy. (but sadly it was too late..) She left me an Album of Photos which I received through the post some time after she died. God Bless you Lena, and Thank You for remembering me. May you sing your heart out in heaven.xx

I do wish Lena had had more vocal training as the pub singing comes out and her voice isn’t quite getting there. Strong, yes. Loud, yes, but holding notes and hitting high and low notes isn’t working

I like Lena but the pub singer often comes out in here voice. She needed some vocal training desperately

The lovely Lena Zavaroni quoting Valentino and Astaire in this great song.! The wonderfully talented Lena. Who had such a sad demise. Had she lived and been healthy she would have been around a long time in Showbusiness she had such great potential. Very sad. RIP LENA YOU ARE STILL REMEMBERED AND MISSED VERY MUCH!! ❤❤❤

I feel like this poor lady was close to being on her last legs at this point and it seemed to me some people just saw her and didn’t think anything was wrong or different about her and I would have thought it would have been quite plain to see there was something wrong and just to have a look at how thin she was becoming and I know that by time Peggy Claude Pierre started to help her Lena had become very skinny quite skeletal. Maybe the Solomon’s knew something was wrong but it seems like they just waited forever till not long before the end of Lena’s life and they could have just done something to help her earlier in her life why didn’t they I keep asking myself? I’d hope to think that any audience members just noticed that there was something wrong but then there’s no evidence of that it seems and you can’t tell just from people watching her sing what they were thinking and of course you can’t hear anyone else so who knows what they were thinking but I wish they’re would have been more concern for this woman and I feel sorry and sad inside for Lena when she talked about keeping hope and to know that there is always hope whether you feel it or not you’ve just got to think that inside of you and I really feel the song one day at a time with Lena singing was like a cry for help with the lyrics “show me the stairway that I have to climb lord for my sake, teach me to take one day at a time” was her singing for someone to help her and that she was still keeping hope and trying to keep feeling positive and to not give up but then it’s like the world just let her down and her anorexia brought her down too and it killed her too I feel as well. And her agent Dorothy sounds like quite a nightmare because she didn’t even seem to notice anything wrong either and in a documentary about Lena she was mainly just talking about Lena always being confident about her performing and no mention of any health concerns enquiries questions or anything from her about Lena’s Anorexia and just her agent saying how Lena wanted to a comeback each time with singing basically comeback, comeback comeback kind of in a nutshell to me of what Dorothy Solomon was like.I pity Lena having to stand by living with that bugbare. It may not have been blatantly obvious just seeing her agent but I guess it must have always been skin deep underneath.

I've goosebumps listening to Lena pour out her heart in this performance. Wow! What a beautiful voice she had.
